  • SBS Knoxville’s membership is comprised of a diverse group of women across a range of life stages.

    • Some of us have kids. Some of us have fur-kids. Some of us have no kids at all (and like it that way, thank you very much!)

    • You name it, we do it. We work inside and outside the home, in healthcare, in corporate America, and for small businesses. We are teachers, accountants, marketers, veterinarians, physical therapists, physicians assistants, photographers, and more. Stressful day? Someone else can relate, we guarantee it.

    • West coast, East cost, North, South. We’ve lived everywhere. Thanks to the frequent moves from city to city along the medical journey, you’ll find women from every corner of the US among our membership.

    • Our spouses range from first-year medical students to seasoned attendings done with training. And every step in between. Each stages comes with its own set of challenges and you’ll find members right there in the trenches with you, as well as mentors who’ve made it through to the other side.

  • SBS Knoxville offers a weekly bible study each Monday.

    • Morning group gathers 9:30 - 11:30 am at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church

    • Evening group meets 7- 9 pm in member homes across every corner of Knoxville.

    These two groups typically follow the same curriculum, so members can join either meeting time.

    Additionally, we host a variety of other ways to connect throughout the month with holiday parties and socials, service opportunities, playdates, and more. Check our Calendar of Events for details.

  • Morning Group- Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church graciously offers free childcare for children ages 5 and under. Advanced registration is required, so please contact us to learn more.

    Evening Group- At this time, childcare is not provided for evening group. Take the night off, and enjoy the comfort of someone else's home!

  • No, SBS Knoxville is free to join and we do not charge membership dues. We also offer financial support to members who need assistance covering the cost of materials for our weekly bible study or babysitters during our kid-free social events.

  • No, some of our members have been married for decades, some are newlyweds, and others are dating or engaged. Regardless of the stage of life you’re in, you’ll find other members right there with you!

  • Side By Side is an ministry of Christian Medical and Dental Associations (CMDA) .

    We exist to provide support to all women regardless of denomination or religious background and welcome members from all walks and backgrounds.

    Whether you are non-religious, new to the Christian faith, or a seasoned follower of Christ, you belong here and we can’t wait to meet you.

  • Come as you are, when you can, no excuses needed. When you do, you’ll likely find us in leggings with a messy bun to match.

    The demands on women in medical marriages are varied and SBS Knoxville will never be one more thing on your plate. We’re here to offer support and community as often or as infrequently as you can fit it in.

    While we’d love to see you every week, we also expect there will be seasons where you can’t make it. And, that’s okay!

    Oh, and on those rare occasions you get a night off to spend with your (always working) husband, we want you to hang with him, not us!
